Over the last several years, researchers have increased their attention on how learners interact with technology for learning or education purposes. A few prominent reports:

EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research conducts an annual report on undergraduate students use of information technologies. The 2007 report is available here

Pew Internet conducts research on how society and its members use technology for interaction, content creation, social networking, and so on. A recent report on teens and social media, for example, highlights the rapid growth in teen contribution to online content: "64% of online teenagers ages 12 to 17 engaging in at least one type of content creation, up from 57% of online teens in 2004".

The Oxford Internet Institute researches the impact of the internet on society, governance, science, learning, and every day life. Their research is disseminated in numerous publications and research projects. The 2007 report on The Internet in Britain (.pdf) tracks current trends in internet use.

JISC,whose mission "is to provide world-class leadership in the innovative use of ICT to support education and research", released a report (in December 2006) on Student Experiences of Technologies (.pdf)
